בצל המלחמה מלאת האבדות בסוריה משפחה אחת ניסתה את מזלה להימלט מהמקום דרך הים על גבי סירות. הסירות התהפכו ובכך מצאו את מותם 11 בני אדם וביניהם הילד הזה שנסחף לים ותמונתו מרגשת את קהל הגולשים באינטרנט בכל רחבי העולם.
